Learn from artists

Spend a week at day camp – learn from artists!

July 29 – August 1, 2024
9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Ages 6 – 12
$208 – $259 per child

Locations:
Coutts Centre Chicken House
Camper drop-off and pick-up on-site at the Coutts Centre parking area

Registration includes all materials and supplies – campers must bring their own lunch and snacks, outdoor clothing, sunscreen, bugspray, sunglasses.

This camp is built around cultivating a love for the arts in every child! This is the perfect camp for kids who have less creative experience to learn something new, as well as a space to encourage kids who are already passionate about art.

Campers will have the opportunity to try something new every day, painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking, and many other artistic mediums. They will learn about artists through fun activities, hands-on indigenous art practices, try out printmaking with artist Michelle Wiebe, and make art collaboratively, indoors and out at the incredible Coutts Centre.

Our goal is to engage campers in a way that, by the end of the week, each camper will have the skills, the tools, and the passion to continue creating for long after.

Printmaking Workshop with Michelle Wiebe

As part of Kids Art Camp, Michelle will teach a workshop on July 31.

Michelle Wiebe is a Cochrane, Alberta based artist focused primarily on painting, printmaking, and letterpress. She is a member of the Leighton Artist Centre and Alberta Printmakers.

Get inky with Michelle Wiebe and learn the magic of printmaking by carving your own stamps in easy cut linoleum blocks. Students will then explore a variety of ways to print by using their stamps to make art, cards and more. Participants will go home with their own custom blocks, amazing artwork, and an enthusiasm for printing with lino!

Michelle is also a passionate instructor with a deep love for teaching, she makes it her goal that students leave her class with quality work and the confidence to continue building their new skills.
